Job Purpose

The Material Controller is responsible for managing and overseeing the complete stock system of the company. This includes receiving, storing, issuing, inspecting, and tracking materials, ensuring proper documentation, preventing stock losses, managing returns and deadstock, and preparing analytical inventory reports to support smooth operations and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stock & Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate records of all stock in/out transactions.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure materials are stored systematically.
  • Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile with system records.
  • Prevent stock discrepancies and ensure proper documentation.
  • Material Handling & Inspections
  • Oversee receiving and inspection of incoming materials.
  • Ensure quality checks are conducted before materials are accepted.
  • Handle rejected/returned materials with proper records and approvals.
  • Issuance & Returns
  • Ensure timely issuance of materials as per requisitions.
  • Record and manage material returns from departments/sites.
  • Track and segregate deadstock / obsolete items for disposal or management approval.
  • Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.
  • Provide management with analytical reports on consumption patterns, slow-moving items, shortages, and forecast requirements.
  • Recommend process improvements for efficient inventory control.
  • Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure proper labeling, stacking, and safe storage of materials.
  • Follow company policies, safety norms, and standard operating procedures.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and practices
  • Proficiency in MS Excel / Inventory software (ERP preferred)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
  • 3–5 years of proven experience in inventory or stock control
  • Experience in construction/landscaping/materials industry preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25, ₹30,000.00 per month
