Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Engineer - Mechanical Maintenance, based in Lucknow. The role involves performing regular maintenance and repair of equipment and ensuring minimal downtime. The Engineer will carry out preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and work on developing and implementing maintenance engineering processes. The individual will also collaborate with team members to optimize mechanical performance and ensure production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair.
• Strong expertise in Mechanical Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance techniques.
• 3-5 years of experience in Maintenance Engineering processes and best practices.
• Sound understanding of mechanical systems and hands-on technical troubleshooting skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or heavy machinery environment is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Technical & Functional Expertise and Other Competencies Required

• In-depth knowledge for repair and maintenance of all types of casting manufacturing equipment such as Wax Presses, Autoclave, Firing Furnace, Small VIM, Small VAR, Large VAR, SX/DS Furnace, HIP, Vacuum Heat Treatment, Water Blasting, Leaching, Bandsaw, Lathe, Grinding, Grit/Glass bead Blasting, Abrasive Cutting, and Gas Cutting.
• Strong understanding of servicing, preventive maintenance, and condition-based monitoring of casting manufacturing equipment such as Wax Presses, Autoclave, Firing Furnace, Small VIM, Small VAR, Large VAR, SX/DS Furnace, HIP, Vacuum Heat Treatment, Water Blasting, Leaching, Bandsaw, Lathe, Grinding, Grit/Glass bead Blasting, Abrasive Cutting, and Gas Cutting.
• In-depth knowledge of equipment alignment such as pumps, balancing of impellers and tools & tackles required to carry out quality maintenance.
• Expert in preparing audit documents for maintenance departments as per requirement of AS9100 standards along with basic understanding of ISO 9001/14001/45001.
• Strong team management skills.

Key Responsibilities

The
Engineer – Mechanical Maintenance
will be responsible for ensuring the
reliability, uptime, and optimal performance
of critical equipment across the Advanced Materials & Technology Complex (AMTC). This role demands strong technical knowledge of high-temperature and vacuum systems, sound analytical skills, and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Equipment Maintenance & Reliability:

Plan and execute preventive maintenance (PM) programs for key foundry and machining equipment including Wax Presses, Autoclaves, Furnaces (VIM, VAR, SX/DS), HIP, Vacuum Heat Treatment, Water Blasting, Leaching, and other mechanical systems. Ensure compliance with AS9100 maintenance standards and all safety norms.

Breakdown & Troubleshooting:

Lead maintenance response during breakdowns, coordinate with OEMs, and perform root-cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence. Manage spare parts inventory and raise requisitions (PRs) for critical spares and consumables.

Planning & Documentation:

Develop and implement annual preventive maintenance plans. Maintain accurate records — PM reports, maintenance logs, MTTR/MTBF data, and equipment availability reports — to monitor performance and reliability trends.

Continuous Improvement & Team Leadership:

Lead maintenance technicians during both PM and breakdown activities. Drive initiatives for equipment reliability improvement, FMEA, and Asset Criticality Analysis (ACA). Promote 5S, Kaizen, and workplace safety across the maintenance function.

Project Support:

Provide technical input during installation and commissioning of new machines and systems to ensure long-term maintainability and reliability.
