Job Title: L3 Support Engineer – Java, Big Data, and ScriptingLocation: Hyderabad & BangaloreExperience: 5 yearsEmployment Type: Full-timeDepartment: Production Support / EngineeringJob SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled L3 Support Engineer with strong expertise in Java programming, debugging, and core OOP concepts, along with proficiency in SQL, scripting languages (Shell, Python, Perl, or JavaScript), and experience working with Cluster Computing and Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, and HDFS. This role involves advanced production support, root cause analysis, and performance tuning for mission-critical applications.

Key ResponsibilitiesProvide Level 3 support for Java-based enterprise applications in a production environment. Perform advanced debugging, log analysis, and performance tuning of backend services and distributed systems. Investigate and resolve complex issues involving Java code, SQL queries, and data pipelines.

Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for incidents, ensuring permanent solutions and knowledge base updates. Collaborate with development, QA, and DevOps teams to implement fixes and deploy patches. Write and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Python, Perl, or JavaScript to streamline support processes.

Support and troubleshoot Big Data systems including Apache Spark, Hadoop, and HDFS.Monitor system performance and availability using appropriate observability tools (e.g., logs, metrics, alerts). Participate in on-call rotations and ensure timely resolution of critical incidents.

Required Skills & Qualifications5 years of experience in Java/J2EE development or support. Strong understanding of Core Java, Object-Oriented Programming, and multi-threaded applications. Hands-on experience in SQL and working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).

Proficiency in scripting languages: Shell, Python, Perl, or JavaScript. Experience in supporting or developing Big Data systems (Spark, Hadoop, HDFS).

Solid understanding of production environments, incident management, and SLAs. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach. Familiarity with tools like JConsole, VisualVM, or other JVM monitoring utilities is a plus.

Preferred QualificationsExposure to containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with monitoring/logging tools such as ELK Stack, Splunk, or Prometheus. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and build tools (e.g., Jenkins, Maven).

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
