Role Overview:

As a Chemical Plant Operator, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring plant equipment, maintaining process parameters, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. You will work closely with engineers, technicians, and safety personnel to optimize production and troubleshoot issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Operation & Monitoring

  • Operate and control chemical processing equipment, including reactors, pumps, compressors, distillation columns, and heat exchangers
  • Monitor gauges, meters, control panels, and computer systems to ensure optimal process conditions
  • Adjust controls to regulate temperature, pressure, flow rate, and chemical composition as per standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Inspection & Troubleshooting

  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and process units to detect malfunctions or safety hazards
  • Identify and troubleshoot operational issues promptly to minimize downtime
  • Report abnormalities, incidents, or maintenance needs to supervisors and maintenance teams

Quality & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure production meets quality standards by monitoring samples and conducting tests
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies
  • Participate in safety drills, risk assessments, and incident investigations

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Certification as a Process Operator or similar
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or SCADA systems
  • Basic understanding of chemical reactions, process flows, and material safety data sheets (MSDS)
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
