Job Summary:

The RO Plant Operator is responsible for the smooth operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant, Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), and Water Treatment Plant (WTP). The role ensures continuous water supply, compliance with quality parameters, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor the RO Plant, STP, and WTP equipment on a daily basis.
  • Maintain required water quality standards (TDS, pH, conductivity, etc.).
  • Record operational data such as pressure, flow rate, and chemical consumption.
  • Adjust control settings to optimize treatment efficiency and plant performance.
  • Conduct routine checks and preventive maintenance of pumps, motors, filters, membranes, valves, and chemical dosing systems.
  • Identify and rectify mechanical, electrical, or process-related faults.
  • Replace filter media, membranes, and other consumables as per schedule.
  • Maintain logs of chemical dosing, backwashing, and regeneration cycles.
  • Ensure treated water meets discharge norms and quality standards.
  • Maintain daily operation and maintenance logs.
  • Prepare reports on chemical consumption, downtime, and performance.
  • Report any deviations, breakdowns, or abnormalities to the supervisor immediately.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (preferred).
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in operating RO Plant, STP, and/or WTP in industrial, residential, or commercial sectors.
  • Understanding of RO, UF, and filtration systems.
  • Knowledge of chemical dosing, regeneration, and backwash operations.
  • Ability to read P&ID and plant layouts.
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment processes.
  • Hands-on experience in plant operation and maintenance.
  • Record keeping and report preparation.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
