Role Overview
The
People Operations Associate
supports people operations, culture initiatives, and community engagement across a fully remote, mission-driven HR ecosystem. The role suits HR professionals with 1–3 years of experience who enjoy organizing people processes, maintaining accurate data, and creating a positive experience for contributors and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Support onboarding and exits for interns, volunteers, contributors, and project-based team members (documents, checklists, inductions).
- Maintain people records, trackers, and simple reports to keep HR and community data updated and reliable.
- Coordinate with function and project leads on role briefs, assignment tracking, and schedule updates.
- Assist in rolling out people policies, SOPs, and culture guidelines, ensuring clear communication to stakeholders.
- Respond to people-related queries through email, messaging, and virtual meetings with a service mindset.
- Help plan and execute virtual engagement activities, learning circles, events, and HR community initiatives.
- Support basic HR metrics and dashboards (onboarding numbers, participation, engagement indicators).
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in HR, people operations, HR coordination, or similar operations/admin role.
- Strong interest in people experience, culture, and HR community building.
- Comfortable working 100% remote with high ownership, responsiveness, and time management.
- Good written and verbal English; clear, empathetic communication style.
- Confidence with Google Workspace / MS Office (especially Sheets/Excel) and basic HR or CRM tools.
- Detail-oriented, structured, and able to manage multiple stakeholders at once.
Nice to Have
- Experience with HR communities, NGOs, or not-for-profit initiatives.
- Exposure to HR tech, talent acquisition, or HR analytics.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn, WhatsApp groups, and basic content or community coordination.
