Job Title: Executive AM (Geology) – Natural Resource (Business Development)

Department: Natural Resource – Business Development

Location: Kolkata

Reports To: Head-Natural Resources

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Purpose:

The role involves strategic analysis and evaluation of mineral blocks, preparation of executive summaries and GIS data, Technical Inputs in financial modelling (CAPEX/OPEX), and support in raw material procurement. This position requires a blend of geological expertise, analytical thinking, and business acumen to support the organization's growth through acquisition and development of mineral resources.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Mineral Block Assessment & Tender Analysis

  • Analyze tenders and assess mineral blocks of strategic and commercial importance.
  • Compile detailed mineral block data into summary sheets for management review.
  • Prepare KML files and executive summaries for shortlisted mineral blocks.

2. Financial Evaluation & Modelling

  • Calculate statutory payments: bid security, performance security, upfront payments, etc.
  • Technical Inputs for Develop CAPEX and OPEX models for prospective mineral blocks.
  • Track mineral prices published by IBM and Ministry of Coal (MoC).
  • Analyze government policies/amendments and assess business impact.

3. Site Visits & Resource Validation

  • Conduct field visits to evaluate mineral block viability and collect geological samples.
  • Prepare detailed site visit reports and ensure timely dispatch of collected samples for lab testing.

4. Procurement Support

  • Initiate and manage RFQs for procurement of raw materials for plant operations.
  • Coordinate auctions with the internal Auction Team.
  • Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) for raw material purchases.
  • Follow up with suppliers on dispatches and update raw material stock details for concerned plants.

5. Project Monitoring & Reporting

  • Maintain and report monthly project status updates to stakeholders and leadership.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Postgraduate degree in Geology, Applied Geology, or a related discipline.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in GIS tools (e.g., KML file creation, satellite imagery interpretation).

  • Strong command of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Detail-oriented with analytical thinking.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently with ownership and accountability.

  • Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork and site evaluations.
