Role & responsibilities

  • Process payroll for all employees on a monthly basis in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Collect, verify, and reconcile timesheets and attendance records.
  • Ensure proper calculation of salaries, deductions, taxes, and other payroll components.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records in the HR/payroll system.
  • Handle employee queries related to salary, tax, payslips, and other payroll matters.
  • Coordinate with HR for inputs such as new joiners, exits, promotions, and salary revisions.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (PF, ESI, TDS, professional tax, etc.).
  • Generate payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities as required.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and best practices.
  • Assist employees with queries related to income tax, salary structure, Form 16, HRA, 80C, etc.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in Commerce or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in payroll processing or related roles.
  • Knowledge of payroll software (e.g. HROne) is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Indian payroll regulations and statutory compliance.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills'
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Experience in handling payroll for 500+ employees.
  • Familiarity with Excel functions, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.
