Location: RMC Head Office – Bhadohi

1. Role Summary

The Sampling Coordinator Intern supports the end-to-end development of handmade rug samples, coordinating between R&D, Design, QA, Looms, Dyeing, Finishing, and Merchandising. The role ensures timely and accurate sample development as per approved design specifications, and maintains structured documentation throughout the sampling lifecycle.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Sampling Coordination

  • Convert design/CAD files into sampling briefs.
  • Prepare material boards, yarn swatches and technical spec sheets.
  • Coordinate raw material requirements with Stores/Purchase.
  • Follow up with Loom/Weaving, Dyeing and Finishing teams for sampling tasks.
  • Track sampling progress from initiation to final output.

B. R&D Support & Technical Activities

  • Assist in conducting R&D tests (GSM, pile height, construction checks, color fastness).
  • Document test results and escalate deviations.
  • Ensure samples meet technical and aesthetic specifications defined in the design pack.

C. Coordination With Merchandising & Design

  • Align sampling needs with merchandising comments and buyer expectations.
  • Ensure design-related inputs (color, construction, textures) are clearly communicated to execution teams.
  • Help prepare sampling packets for buyer submissions or exhibitions.

D. Documentation & Tracking

  • Maintain updated sampling trackers (progress, timelines, materials, test results).
  • Label, store and archive physical and digital samples systematically.
  • Prepare sampling handover files including images, specs and test sheets.

E. Internal Communication & Workflow Management

  • Coordinate daily with Design, QA, Loom, Dyeing and Finishing departments.
  • Ensure all stakeholders receive clear and complete instructions.
  • Support meetings, reviews and daily sampling follow-ups.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Understanding of rug/textile construction
  • Ability to interpret CAD files and technical packs
  • Basic knowledge of R&D testing standards
  • Strong documentation and Excel proficiency

4. Qualification & Experience

  • Pursuing or recently completed Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Technology, Design or related field
  • Prior internship in sampling, textiles or product development (preferred but not mandatory)

5. Work Environment

  • On-site coordination with loom, dyeing and finishing units
  • Close interaction with design, merchandising and QA teams
  • Fast-paced, hands-on product development environment

Job Types: Fresher, Internship

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: ₹8, ₹12,000.00 per month
