Job Title: Senior System Administrator

Location: Trivandrum, Kerala, India.

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: The Senior System Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. This role requires a deep understanding of system administration, network management, and security protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Management: Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage, and network equipment.

  • Network Administration: Manage and monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure network security.

  • Security: Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.

  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup and periodic disaster recovery practice to ensure data integrity and availability.

  • Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance using monitoring tool and make recommendations for improvements.

  • User Support: Provide technical L3 support to end-users and resolve IT-related issues when its arise.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, such as ISO 27001 and regulatory requirements.

  • Software Management: Install, update, and manage software applications and licenses.

  • Capacity Planning: Assess and plan for future IT infrastructure needs to support business growth.

  • Incident Management: Lead the response to IT incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on operations.

  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors for hardware and software procurement, maintenance, and support when it required.

  • Training: Provide training and guidance to junior IT staff and end-users on best practices and new technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration or a similar role.

Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in Windows and Linux (Ubuntu) operating systems

o Virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)

o Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)

o Network protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)

o Scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)

o Basic knowledge in Database management (e.g., SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)

o Monitoring and logging tools (e.g., PRTG, Wazuh)

o Storage solutions (e.g., SAN, NAS)

o Security best practices and tools (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs)

Certifications:

Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: AWS SysOps/ Azure Administrator, Cisco Certified Network associate are preferred.

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹900,000.00 per year
