Role & responsibilities

  • Lead testing and inspection for Bar and Wire Rod Products to ensure finished product quality
  • Follow sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data and monitor the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems
  • Manage customer issues by coordinating effectively with sales, production and customer teams
  • Evaluate vendors and counsel them on quality improvement; undertake inspections at vendor sites
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings as required in order to strengthen the production across the plant and other related quality processes for Bar and Wire Rod Products
  • Identify areas of improvement from the SLA, business strategy, metric and initiate improvement projects
  • Leverage own understanding of quality processes, prevalent market practices and planned future requirements to highlight and recommend changes in Quality Management plans
  • Identify training needs and conduct training interventions to meet quality standards
  • Manage team in terms of goal setting, delivery, performance, development, and engagement

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors Degree in Metallurgy with 8+ years of manufacturing quality assurance /control experience, preferably in steel manufacturing setups
