Procurement Manager - Dairy Products

Role: Procurement Manager / Raw Material Sourcing Head

Industry: Dairy / Food Processing / FMCG

Location: Rewari, Haryana (Office-based, with significant travel to collection centers)

Experience:5+ Years in Dairy Procurement / Milk Collection

Key Focus: Sourcing high-quality raw milk, Mawa (Khoya), and other key dairy ingredients.

The Role: Key Responsibilities

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for the entire raw material supply chain, ensuring optimal quality, quantity, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Raw Milk Sourcing Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for sourcing high-quality raw milk (Cow/Buffalo) from local farmers, collection centers, and cooperative societies around the Rewari region.
  • Key Ingredient Procurement: Establish strong relationships with reliable suppliers for bulk purchasing of Mawa/Khoya, cream, butter, and other specialized dairy ingredients, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms to achieve maximum savings without compromising quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate closely with the Production/QC team to implement strict quality check protocols at the time of material reception (e.g., Fat/SNF testing, Adulteration checks).
  • Logistics & Collection: Oversee the logistics of milk collection, ensuring efficient routing, transport, and timely delivery to the plant while maintaining the cold chain.
  • Inventory Control: Forecast raw material requirements based on production plans and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or spoilage.
  • Market Analysis: Continuously monitor market prices and trends for milk and dairy commodities to inform procurement decisions.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, train, and manage a team of collection center supervisors and quality checkers.

What We Are Looking For (Mandatory Requirements)

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Raw Material Procurement, specifically in the Dairy or Food Processing industry.
  • Domain Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of raw milk quality parameters (Fat, SNF, Clot-on-Boiling test, etc.) and standard dairy ingredients like Mawa/Khoya.
  • Local Network: Strong existing relationships and contacts with milk collection centers, bulk milk coolers (BMCs), farmers, and wholesale suppliers in the Rewari/South Haryana region.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of strong contract negotiation and cost-saving achievements.
  • Education: A degree in Dairy Technology, Food Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Attributes: Highly organized, ethical, excellent in team management, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
