Brief about team

Consumer Products team is a center of excellence within the Category Management vertical of Tata 1mg. The team works closely with the org-wide leadership team, business, product, growth, and category teams to identify & execute opportunities to launch private label products under Tata 1mg brand name. The team works to identify private label product opportunities & develops in-depth understanding of products to be launched. The team works with vendor partners for developing high quality products & owns the complete lifecycle of product from conceptualizing to owning sales across channels. The projects span across business verticals including e-pharma, institutional business, e-diagnostics and retail.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Procurement Manager (Vendor Management) to lead sourcing, vendor onboarding, cost optimization, and supply assurance for the Tata 1mg Consumer Products portfolio. The role will ensure high-quality vendor partnerships, seamless material availability, and strong governance over procurement processes. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in vendor development, contract manufacturing, and cost negotiation across FMCG, nutraceuticals, or healthcare categories.

Key Responsibilities:

Vendor Management & Development

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard contract manufacturers and packaging vendors aligned with Tata 1mg quality and compliance standards.

• Conduct vendor audits in collaboration with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure adherence to GMP and product standards.

• Build and maintain strategic partnerships to drive long-term value creation and cost competitiveness.

• Ensure regular vendor performance reviews through quality, delivery, and cost KPIs.

Procurement Operations

• Oversee end-to-end procurement for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods (RM/PM/FG).

• Negotiate commercial terms, lead times, and credit structures to optimize working capital.

• Develop a strong supplier payment and PO tracking matrix integrated with ERP systems.

• Ensure timely availability of materials to support new product launches and sales forecasts.

Cost Optimization & Process Excellence

• Drive cost improvement initiatives through alternative sourcing, vendor consolidation, and process optimization.

• Benchmark procurement costs with industry and global standards to ensure competitiveness.

• Collaborate with Finance and Supply Chain for budget planning, spend analysis, and forecasting accuracy.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all vendor documentation, agreements, NDAs, and quality certifications are updated and centrally archived.

• Partner with Legal and Regulatory teams for contract finalization, label compliance, and audit readiness.

• Support internal audits and CAPA implementation related to procurement and vendor processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Category, NPD, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations teams to ensure smooth commercialization.

• Support the Label Artwork and Approval process post any quality or compliance feedback to strengthen label and packaging compliance workflows.

Qualifications:

• Graduate / Postgraduate (MBA preferred) with 58 years of experience in Procurement, Vendor Management, or Supply Chain.

• Prior experience in FMCG, Nutraceuticals, Consumer Health, or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred.

• Strong commercial and negotiation skills with exposure to contract manufacturing environments.
