Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BigCommerce Expert to lead the design, development, customization, and optimization of BigCommerce-based eCommerce solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in BigCommerce Stencil framework, API integrations, and custom app development, along with a strong understanding of performance optimization and user experience.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Lead the end-to-end development and maintenance of BigCommerce stores.
  • Customize themes and templates using , Handlebars, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Develop and integrate custom BigCommerce apps, APIs, and webhooks.
  • Work with Headless BigCommerce implementations using
  • Collaborate with designers and backend developers to deliver pixel-perfect, responsive, and high-performance solutions.
  • Implement third-party integrations (payment gateways, shipping, ERP, CRM, PIM, etc.).
  • Ensure SEO optimization, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to themes, performance, or integrations.
  • Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and maintain coding best practices.
  • Stay updated on BigCommerce updates, SDKs, and new features.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 410 years of experience in eCommerce development, with 4+ years specifically in BigCommerce.
  • Expert knowledge of , , Handlebars, SCSS, and modern front-end practices.
  • Strong understanding of BigCommerce REST & GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience with Headless Commerce architecture using , React, or
  • Hands-on experience integrating third-party services and custom apps.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows, and Agile development.
  • Good understanding of SEO, web performance, and responsive design principles.
  • Experience with Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce (added advantage).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS/Azure and DevOps tools.
