Role & responsibilities :-

  1. Maintenance of Machines & Equipment

  2. Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance for:

  3. Laser cutting machines
  4. Rolling & Bending machines
  5. Manual and robotic welding machines (MIG/TIG/Arc)
  6. Minimize machine downtime and increase equipment availability.

  7. Maintain critical spares inventory and liaise with OEMs for service.

  8. Robotic Welding System Support

  9. Perform first-level diagnostics and minor programming adjustments on robotic welding systems (e.g., ABB, FANUC, Yaskawa).

  10. Collaborate with automation teams for maintenance of sensors, actuators, and controllers.

  11. Optimize robotic welding parameters for quality and productivity.

  12. Plant Setup & Commissioning

  13. Participate in layout design and machine installation during plant expansions.

  14. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams for equipment commissioning.

  15. Ensure alignment with utility lines, safety zones, and process flow.

  16. Utility Management

  17. Ensure smooth functioning and maintenance of:

  18. Compressors, chillers, ETP/STP
  19. HVAC, water treatment plants

  20. Track consumption and reduce utility-related energy costs.

  21. DG Set & Electrical Maintenance

  22. Oversee DG set operation, load testing, and maintenance.

  23. Maintain electrical panels, distribution boards, and ensure power factor correction.

  24. Ensure preventive electrical safety measures and zero accidents.

  25. Compliance & Safety (Maintenance-related)

  26. Ensure compliance with Factory Act, electrical and boiler inspector norms, PCB (Pollution Control Board) requirements.

  27. Maintain documentation and records for ISO, OSHA, EMS audits.

  28. Conduct regular maintenance safety audits and inspections.

  29. Documentation & Reporting

  30. Maintain history cards, breakdown records, MTBF & MTTR tracking.

  31. Prepare daily/weekly/monthly maintenance MIS reports.

  32. Track equipment-wise downtime and root cause analysis (RCA).

  33. Team Supervision & Coordination

  34. Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors.

  35. Conduct tool-box talks, skill development programs, and cross-training.

  36. Coordinate with production, quality, EHS, and external agencies.

  37. Continuous Improvement Initiatives

  38. Drive TPM, 5S, and Kaizen activities in the maintenance department.

  39. Identify energy-saving, cost reduction, and automation opportunities.
  40. Propose and execute engineering change projects for long-term reliability.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems
  • Hands-on experience with CNC/PLC-based machines
  • Exposure to robotic welding cells (ABB, FANUC, Yaskawa, etc.)
  • Familiarity with lean maintenance tools (TPM, 5S)
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and factory compliance norms
  • SAP, Problem-solving and RCA skills
  • Vendor & contractor management
