We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of  AVP- Finance Operations

Business: Finance

Principal responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this role include:

Successful delivery of external reporting objectives, preparation and delivery of all regulatory reportings i.e. IFRS, FinRep, GSIB etc to consolidation team and manage the final submission to ECB, PRA and other regulators and recognition of ownership and responsibility for the quality of the reported dataWorking closely with various stakeholders like Product control, ALCM team and Regulatory Policy to understand, plan and deliver change initiatives including new reporting requirementsProviding subject matter expertise, individually and through the team, to stakeholders across business, Risk and Finance, including in the context of strategic business transformation.Supporting management in the continuous enhancement, maintenance and testing of the management action & restructuring processesProactive and collaborative stakeholder engagement with peers and senior management across Functions, Global Business Lines and Legal Entities to ensure the management actions standards and controls are adhered to and the completeness, accuracy and credibility of all management actionsEnsure outputs delivered are of a high quality, reflecting accepted regulatory policy and standards with transparent and robust control procedures that withstand internal and external scrutinyEnsuring the necessary changes are made in the respective processes and controls, to continue to meet all necessary regulatory reporting requirements and tested to deliver the desired results.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

Continually assess operational risks inherent in the processes, taking account of changing procedures, regulatory requirements, management restructures, and impact of new technology.Effectively drive and manage change, plan business contingency and achieve cross-training.Ensure that there is full compliance with the Global Finance, Internal Control and ObjectivesContribute to implementation of effective and efficient process and controls.Pro-active approach to process improvement and query resolution

Qualifications: 

Experienced finance professional with a proven track record of overseeing Financial accounting obligations within a large-scale financial services entity. IFRS, Finrep reporting, regulatory reporting expertise and knowledge – to help drive explain and commentQualified accountants or equivalent academic background with minimum 8-10 years of experience.Confident to work effectively with stakeholders across the bank, driving and influencing outcomes to deliver activities on time and to progressively improve the efficiency of processes over the longer term.Understanding the regulatory environment, guidelines and new developments to assess impact on HSBC and the processes and implementing changes.

What additional skills will be good to have?

Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, combined with tact and diplomacy for interaction with regulator.A professional accounting qualification or management degree in Finance with relevant experienceExcellent knowledge of MS Office suite of products, particularly working with MS Excel, large database files, macros and process automation.Good analytical skills, an eye for detail and a drive for quality statistical skills to study trends, understand and to interpret numeric information.Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to frequent and multiple changes
