You'll own the platforms that optimize authentication flows, login funnel, and ground truth — ensuring users get fast, seamless, and secure access while giving internal teams reliable insights into user behavior. You'll work on systems that directly impact conversion funnels, engagement rates, and personalization quality for hundreds of millions of users by building a deep insight about the users.
About the team: At JioHotstar, the Viewer Experience (VX) org is at the heart of how millions discover, engage with, and fall in love with our platform. We own the end-to-end user journey—from first app launch to daily habit loops—across Search, Personalization, Watch Experience, Interactivity, and more. We blend world-class engineering, ML, design, and data to deliver a seamless, personalized, and engaging OTT experience at massive scale. If you're passionate about building immersive, intelligent, and performant user experiences that delight a billion users, join us in shaping the future of streaming.
Key responsibilities:- Lead and scale the Foundations engineering team, responsible for platforms that handle authentication, user state, and ground truth with insights
- Drive technical roadmaps for: Improving login success rates, reducing auth latency, and minimizing funnel drop-offs. Building high-throughput, real-time user insights infrastructure (audience traits, preferences, behavioral data).
- Partner closely with Product, UX, and Data Science teams to define and deliver funnel optimization experiments and personalization enablers
- Design backend systems that scale to hundreds of millions of users, handle 20x live event surges, and maintain sub-second API latencies.
- Champion engineering excellence across observability, performance tuning, cost efficiency, and resilience engineering for Identity and Insights services.
- Own and improve key metrics like: Login Success Rate, Ground Truth Attribute Coverage & Accuracy, Real-time Insights Availability for Personalization
- Foster a high-ownership engineering culture focused on data-driven decision making, experimentation velocity, and customer-first thinking.
- Build and manage a world-class engineering team responsible for developing and delivering high-quality products
- Create effective mechanisms to set goals for the team, create execution plans and track progress against those. You'll collaborate with other Developers, Program Managers, and tech support teams, in an agile environment to estimate and deliver objectives set together as a team.

- Hands-on architectural or distributed systems experience
- Experience with high scale databases - MySQL, NoSQL (Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB)
- Experience using any major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) for production applications
- Experience with CI/CD processes
- A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional, projects and bringing in and growing engineering talent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences
