Job Description: Senior Site Engineer / Assistant Manager – Wood IndustryPosition Overview

The Senior Site Engineer/Assistant Manager is responsible for leading site execution activities for woodwork, furniture installation, interior fit-out, and project delivery. This role ensures smooth coordination between design, production, and site teams to complete projects on time, with high quality, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities1. Site Execution & Supervision

  • Lead and manage day-to-day woodwork/Furniture installation at site.
  • Ensure proper installation of doors, wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, loose furniture, paneling, partitions, etc.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, BOQs, and execution documents.
  • Monitor progress and ensure work is as per approved drawings and specifications.
  • Manage site measurements and verify quantities.

2. Quality Control

  • Ensure quality standards for carpentry, polishing, veneers, laminates, hardware, and fittings.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and rectify defects immediately.
  • Ensure material handling and storage at site meets standards.

3. Coordination

  • Coordinate with design team, production team, contractors, and clients.
  • Attend site meetings and update project progress.
  • Ensure on-time delivery and installation of materials from factory to site.
  • Manage subcontractors (carpenters, painters, polishers, installers).

4. Project Management

  • Prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
  • Track project timelines and ensure projects meet deadlines.
  • Identify site issues and propose solutions proactively.
  • Maintain site documentation, checklists, inspection reports, and MIS.

5. Material & Resource Management

  • Verify material requirements as per drawing and plan.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials, hardware, tools, and consumables at site.
  • Prevent wastage and ensure cost-effective operations.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to site safety protocols.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings and ensure compliance with company & statutory norms.

7. Team Leadership

  • Guide and supervise junior engineers, supervisors, and carpenters.
  • Evaluate performance of site workforce and give technical support.
  • Resolve technical queries at site.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Diploma/Degree in Civil/Interior/Mechanical/Wood Technology or related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in wood/furniture/interior fit-out project execution.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry, modular furniture, and hardware systems (Hettich, Hafele, Blum, etc.).
  • Excellent understanding of technical drawings and site measurements.
  • Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple sites and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD/Pytha is an advantage.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹35, ₹58,000.00 per month
