Certified Listeners Society (CLS) is a global nonprofit dedicated to providing free emotional support to people in need through trained volunteers, AI-powered tools, and culturally contextual wellness programs. With over 1.8 million people served globally and 300,000+ chats annually, CLS is expanding its impact in India through the
IGNiTE365
volunteer program and the
THRiVE365
therapist licensing initiative.
CLS India will become one of the largest wellness and volunteer hubs in the country. We are now hiring our first
Country Manager
to lead this transformative effort.

The Role
As
Country Manager for India
, you will be the most senior executive leader in-country. You will be responsible for building and scaling CLS India, overseeing strategy, execution, team leadership, and stakeholder partnerships nationwide.
While
financial transactions are managed by CLS Canada
, you will have full decision-making authority over
budgets, hiring, partnerships, and operations
. You will serve as the key bridge between CLS headquarters and India, ensuring global alignment with local empowerment.

Strategic Leadership
- Lead the national rollout of
IGNiTE365
(volunteer leadership rotations) and
THRiVE365
(therapist licensing & empowerment). - Develop and execute a multi-year growth strategy aligned with CLS global vision.
- Represent CLS India as the in-country voice for mission, brand, and service excellence.
Operations & Team Management
Directly oversee the following functions:
- Mental Health Service Delivery
- Marketing & Social Media
- Compliance
- Operations
- Business Development
- Sales and Customer Service
- Volunteer Attraction & Retention
- Fundraising
- CLS' License Sales (THRiVE365)
Curriculum Development (IGNiTE365)
Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team across all functions.
- Ensure service delivery and volunteer programs meet both Canadian HQ standards and Indian regulations.
Budget & Compliance
- Make budgetary decisions in consultation with CLS's Canadian comptroller.
- Ensure all services comply with Indian nonprofit and mental health regulations.
- Maintain ethical, transparent, and compliant operations.
Government & Institutional Partnerships
- Forge alliances with central/state government wellness programs, colleges and universities, and public health bodies.
- Represent CLS India at national forums, conferences, and policy discussions.
What We're Looking For
- Cultural fit is extremely important. Strong leadership abilities, lead by example, being a
servant leader
is a top priority for us. - 8–10+ years of senior leadership experience in nonprofit, public health, wellness, or education sectors.
- Proven ability to scale programs, launch new initiatives, or build large national teams.
- Strong understanding of India's regulatory environment for nonprofits and mental health.
- High-level relationship-building skills with government, NGOs, and institutions.
- Excellent communication skills; English required, Indian regional languages a plus.
- Passion for CLS's mission: emotional support, volunteer empowerment, and generational wellness.
