An Indian Chef specializes in preparing and cooking traditional Indian dishes, with a focus on authentic flavors, spices, and cooking techniques. This role involves menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring that meals are consistently of high quality, whether in a restaurant, hotel, catering service, or other food establishments.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Planning & Recipe Development:
- Create innovative dishes that reflect the diverse flavors of Indian food.
- Ensure the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients while maintaining cost control.
- Food Preparation & Cooking:
- Prepare a variety of Indian dishes including appetizers, main courses, side dishes, and desserts, such as curries, tandoori, biryanis, dosas, and chutneys.
- Use traditional Indian cooking methods, such as grilling in a tandoor, slow cooking, and the proper use of spices and herbs.
- Oversee the preparation of special dietary meals (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free, or vegan options) according to customer requests.
- Team Management & Training:
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Provide training on Indian cooking techniques, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
- Quality Control & Presentation:
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standard in terms of taste, presentation, and portion size.
- Regularly taste dishes to maintain consistency in flavor.
- Plate dishes creatively to maintain an appealing visual presentation.
- Food Safety & Hygiene:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations regarding food preparation and storage.
- Ensure proper handling of raw ingredients, especially in relation to Indian spices and herbs.
- Maintain sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen, ensuring that all food safety protocols are followed.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
