Job Description:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing factory operations in the hygiene products manufacturing industry. The role includes end-to-end management of production, production planning, and support departments, ensuring high-quality output, cost optimization, and strict adherence to hygiene and safety standards.

Job Reasonability:

Production Management:

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations of hygiene products (sanitary napkins, diapers, wipes, tissue, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, GMP, and cleanroom protocols.
  • Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), reduce downtime, and ensure production efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement (Kaizen, Lean, TPM).

Production Planning & Control:

  • Develop production schedules based on market demand and sales forecasts.
  • Ensure smooth coordination with procurement for hygiene-grade raw materials (SAP, fluff pulp, nonwoven, adhesives, packaging materials, etc.).
  • Manage inventory to avoid stock outs while minimizing working capital blockage.

Support Functions:

  • Oversee maintenance to ensure uninterrupted running of high-speed hygiene production lines.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance for product testing, microbial standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure packaging and dispatch meet hygiene standards and timelines.

Quality, Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure strict adherence to ISO, GMP, and relevant hygiene industry regulations.
  • Implement HACCP, 5S, and EHS practices across the factory.
  • Conduct hygiene audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions.

People Management:

  • Lead and train production and support teams on hygiene practices, machine operation, and safety protocols.
  • Drive culture of accountability, teamwork, and skill enhancement.
  • Plan workforce deployment and optimize productivity.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Track key production KPIs (yield, wastage, downtime, rejections).
  • Report variances to management with improvement plans.
  • Analyze customer complaints and implement corrective measures.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

  • Education B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (MBA in Operations preferred).
  • Experience 12-15 years of experience in hygiene industries manufacturing operations, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of hygiene product manufacturing processes (diaper/sanitary napkin lines, tissue/wipes production, etc.).
  • Knowledge of GMP, ISO, and hygiene industry compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and planning skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
