Key Responsibilities:
1. Warehouse Operations Management:
o Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, storage, inventory management, order picking, packing, and shipping of garments.
o Ensure all operations are conducted in an efficient, cost-effective, and safe manner.
o Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse to optimize workflow and ensure safety standards are met.
o Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse activities.
2. Inventory Management:
o Maintain accurate records of all inventory, ensuring stock levels are regularly checked and updated.
o Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies in the inventory.
o Ensure proper storage methods for different types of garments (e.g., folded, hung, packed).
o Coordinate with the purchasing team to track and manage stock levels, ensuring that garment materials are available when needed.
3. Staff Supervision & Training:
o Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of warehouse workers, ensuring high levels of productivity and engagement.
o Hire, train, and develop warehouse staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about processes, systems, and safety protocols.
o Schedule and allocate tasks to warehouse staff to ensure timely order fulfillment and deliveries.
4. Logistics and Distribution Coordination:
o Work closely with the distribution team to ensure timely and accurate shipments of finished garments to retailers or customers.
o Manage inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring correct documentation, tracking, and timely delivery.
o Collaborate with the transportation team to optimize routes and reduce shipping costs.
5. Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure that all warehouse operations adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
o Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, ensuring a safe work environment for all warehouse personnel.
o Implement warehouse safety protocols and provide staff with necessary safety training.
6. Technology and Reporting:
o Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software to track, manage, and report on stock movements.
o Generate reports on inventory status, order fulfillment, and warehouse efficiency for senior management.
o Analyze operational performance to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
7. Quality Control:
o Ensure that garments are handled and stored in a way that maintains product quality and prevents damage.
o Monitor the quality of incoming raw materials and finished garments during the receiving and packing stages.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in warehouse management, preferably within the garment or textile industry.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics.
Experience with warehouse management software (WMS) and other inventory control systems.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance in warehouse settings.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the warehouse for extended periods.
Capability to work in a fast-paced environment.
