Job Title: Assistant Manager Technical Officer (Automotive Paint Division)

Experience Required: 10+ Years

Qualification:

  • M.Sc (Chemistry) / B.Tech (Paint Technology) / B.Sc + DPT / DPT / DSCT / M.Tech
  • Candidates with specialization in Paint Technology or Surface Coatings preferred

We are a leading name in the Paints & Coatings industry, committed to delivering high-performance and sustainable solutions for the automotive sector. We are currently seeking a highly experienced and technically sound professional to join our R&D and Product Development team as Assistant Manager Technical Officer in the Automotive Division.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Execution

  • Lead and execute product development projects from concept to commercialization.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Maintain comprehensive and timely documentation of all project activities.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and report progress to senior management.
  • Coordinate with Technical Officers to ensure timely completion of tasks.

2. Technical Support & Customer Interface

  • Investigate and analyze product performance and resolve design-related issues.
  • Develop new paint formulations tailored to automotive customer requirements.
  • Resolve customer complaints and production line issues through root cause analysis.
  • Provide on-site technical support to automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Ensure smooth product establishment and performance validation at customer sites.
  • Guide and mentor junior technical staff/officers in their daily responsibilities.

3. Data Management & Knowledge Sharing

  • Maintain accurate project and experiment data records.
  • Contribute to internal Knowledge Management (KM) systems regularly.
  • Leverage internal databases to improve problem-solving efficiency.
  • Update and maintain the shade panel library with new color developments.

4. Equipment & Asset Management

  • Identify and resolve equipment abnormalities to minimize downtime and defects.

5. Innovation & Research

  • Drive continuous innovation in formulation and application techniques.
  • Document key learnings from projects and technical problem-solving.
  • Submit technical papers for internal/external awards, publishing, and conferences.
  • Stay updated on global trends and developments in automotive coatings.

Key Skills Required:

  • In-depth knowledge of paint chemistry, automotive coating systems, and application processes.
  • Strong formulation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent documentation and project management skills.
  • Hands-on experience in customer handling and plant-level support.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
