Solution Area Specialist Microsoft Azure (Pre-Sales)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Microsoft Azure Solution Area Specialist Pre-Sales to drive

Azure cloud adoption, consumption, and revenue growth. This role focuses solely on

Microsoft Azure and includes technical customer engagements, live Azure Portal demos,

solution assessments, and managing complex Azure pre-sales cycles in collaboration with

Microsoft and its partners.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Pre-Sales Engagement

• Collaborate with Microsoft Telesales and partners to identify, qualify, and engage

customers for Azure cloud adoption and consumption.

• Manage end-to-end Azure pre-sales cycles including customer discovery, solution

alignment, and technical presentations.

• Drive Azure revenue and consumption growth through co-selling motions and

unmanaged customer segments.

Azure Solution Assessment & Pipeline Management

• Own a portfolio of strategic accounts for Azure solution assessments and pipeline

development.

• Secure customer consent for Azure assessments, maintain a 70% assessment

completion rate, and achieve a 40% conversion rate to qualified pipeline.

• Target a 60% win rate on qualified Azure opportunities engaged by the Solution

Area Specialist.

Azure Demonstration & Technical Advisory

• Deliver live, scenario-based demos using the Azure Portal to illustrate technical

capabilities such as virtual machines, networking, identity, security, monitoring, etc.

• Act as a trusted technical advisor for customers and partners, resolving escalations

and supporting cloud architecture conversations.


• Collaborate with Microsoft Cloud Solution Architects (CSAs), Territory Channel

Managers (TCMs), and partners to drive solution design and closure.

Partner Collaboration & Enablement

• Support Microsoft partners in technical readiness, solution positioning, and campaign

execution focused on Azure services.

• Drive Azure opportunity creation from Microsoft-generated leads via marketing and

telesales efforts.

• Ensure pipeline visibility and track Azure opportunity progression from lead to

closure.

Required Skills & Qualifications



Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related

discipline.

• 3+ years of experience in pre-sales, cloud consulting, or solution architecture with a

focus on Microsoft Azure.

• In-depth technical knowledge of Azure services including Compute, Networking,

Storage, Identity, Security, and Monitoring.

• Hands-on experience delivering live Azure Portal demos for customer and partner

engagements.

• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, security, DevOps, hybrid environments,

and migration strategies.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

• Familiarity with partner ecosystems and indirect sales models.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

• Equivalent cloud certifications will also be considered.
