Position Summary

The Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all daily field operations, including maintenance crews, installation projects, and safety compliance. This role ensures that all landscaping services are executed efficiently, meet the highest quality standards, adhere to budget, and exceed client expectations. The Field Supervisor acts as the crucial link between the field crews and upper management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations Management & Quality Control

Directly supervise 2-4 landscaping crews (e.g., Mowing, Maintenance, or Installation).

Schedule, coordinate, and assign daily work tasks and routes to maximize efficiency and crew productivity.

Conduct frequent on-site visits to inspect work quality, ensuring all services are performed according to company standards and project specifications.

Troubleshoot issues that arise on job sites, including equipment malfunctions, material delays, and unforeseen site conditions.

Ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of all tools, vehicles, and equipment.

  1. Staff Leadership & Development

    Train, mentor, and motivate crew leaders and crew members on proper landscaping techniques, safety procedures, and customer service.

Conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary actions in collaboration with management.

Foster a positive and professional team environment that promotes safety and high-quality work.

Ensure all staff clock in/out correctly and accurately track project hours for billing and payroll.

  1. Safety & Compliance

    Lead and enforce the company's comprehensive safety program on all job sites.

Conduct regular tailgate safety meetings and site-specific safety inspections.

Ensure all crew members wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Report all accidents, incidents, and near-misses immediately, and assist with required documentation and follow-up.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., equipment operating permits, chemical application licenses).

  1. Client & Internal Communication

    Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients and property managers, addressing concerns and coordinating service adjustments promptly and professionally.

Communicate daily progress, challenges, and necessary changes to the Operations Manager or relevant leadership.

Document and report any opportunities for upselling or additional service needs observed in the field.
