The Field Supervisor is a crucial leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of multiple landscaping crews, ensuring all projects are completed safely, efficiently, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong balance of technical expertise, leadership, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Management

Direct Supervision: Supervise 3-5 landscaping crews (maintenance, installation, or a mix) on a daily basis.

Scheduling & Dispatch: Coordinate daily crew schedules, job routes, and necessary material/equipment delivery.

Training & Development: Train crew members on proper techniques, equipment operation, safety protocols, and company standards.

Performance Management: Monitor crew performance, provide constructive feedback, and conduct on-site quality checks.

  1. Operations & Quality Control

Site Management: Visit job sites frequently to inspect work quality, address site-specific challenges, and ensure adherence to project scopes.

Equipment & Fleet: Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, used correctly, and accounted for. Coordinate necessary repairs.

Inventory & Materials: Manage and track materials used for projects, minimizing waste and ensuring crews have the supplies they need.

Safety Compliance: Enforce all company and regulatory safety policies (PPE, trenching, power tool usage, etc.) and conduct regular safety briefings.

  1. Customer & Client Relations

Communication: Act as the primary on-site liaison between the company, the crew, and the client.

Issue Resolution: Promptly and professionally address and resolve any client concerns or on-site issues related to service quality or timing.

Sales Support (Optional): Identify potential upsell opportunities (e.g., enhancements, seasonal work) and communicate them to the Sales/Management team.
