Role: VP Sales Strategy
Roles & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a strategic, data-driven, and visionary leader to join our Strategy function as the VP Sales Strategy Lead. This role is pivotal in driving our sales organization's growth and operational efficiency through structured planning, robust strategy development, and actionable roadmaps. You will work closely with senior sales, marketing, and product leaders to align strategic objectives, optimize go-to-market execution, and deliver sustainable revenue impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Planning:
Develop and own the long-term and annual sales strategy in collaboration with the Head of Strategy and senior leadership. Lead the annual sales planning cycle, including market segmentation, territory design, quota planning, and performance forecasting. - Go-to-Market Roadmap Development:
Build and continuously refine the GTM roadmap, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and market dynamics. Define milestones, KPIs, and resource plans for strategic initiatives. - Data-Driven Decision Making:
Leverage analytics and business intelligence to drive insights on sales performance, customer trends, and market opportunities. Make recommendations that shape sales investments, channel strategies, and customer targeting. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Operations teams to ensure cross-functional alignment on strategic objectives and execution plans. - Performance Optimization:
Define and implement processes, tools, and systems that improve sales efficiency and effectiveness. Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to recommend and drive improvements. - Strategic Projects Leadership:
Lead strategic initiatives such as new market entry, sales model redesign, or partner strategy development. Build executive-level presentations and business cases. - Executive Reporting & Communication:
Regularly present to the Head of Strategy and C-level stakeholders on the health of the sales organization, progress against strategic initiatives, and recommended course corrections.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 10–15+ years of experience in sales strategy, commercial planning, or sales operations at a high-growth or large-scale organization
- Proven success in leading cross-functional strategic initiatives, particularly in GTM design, sales forecasting, and market planning
- Experience working at a strategic leadership level and presenting to C-level executives
- Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of sales processes, customer journeys, and revenue models
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across levels and functions
- MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
