Job description

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Software Developer with proven experience in Progress OpenEdge ABL/4GL development, along with good exposure to modern technologies like .NET Core, ReactJS, and CI/CD tools. As part of a high-performing scrum team, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of scalable enterprise products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate actively in a cross-functional agile product development team.
  • Develop and maintain product features using Progress OpenEdge ABL/4GL.
  • Contribute to backend and API development using .NET Core 6.
  • Work closely with QA Analysts, Product Managers, and other developers to deliver stories within the sprint scope.
  • Use version control tools like Git or BitBucket for source code management.
  • Conduct unit testing and participate in peer code reviews.
  • Collaborate with senior/lead developers for ongoing learning and guidance.
  • Leverage a pre-configured development environment with all essential tools installed.
  • Gain working knowledge of proprietary software platforms relevant to the product.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Progress OpenEdge ABL/4GL (must-have).
  • Good knowledge and experience with .NET Core 6.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks, especially ReactJS.
  • Understanding of databases such as PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
  • Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, BitBucket Pipelines).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in a scrum/agile environment.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced development environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
