Job Title: Progress Openedge Support

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Specialist to provide production support, issue resolution, and monitoring for business-critical applications built on Progress OpenEdge.

The ideal candidate will be proactive in handling incidents, ensuring application stability, and working closely with users and development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide L2/L3 technical support for applications developed using Progress OpenEdge.
  • Monitor application performance and ensure system availability by conducting regular checks and analyzing data.
  • Analyze and resolve incidents, service requests, and problem tickets within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes to recurring issues to prevent future occurrences.
  • Handle batch processes, jobs, and scheduled tasks to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Coordinate with development teams for bug fixes, enhancements, and release deployments to meet business requirements.
  • Support application upgrades, patches, and migration activities to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and standard operating procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and process improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Progress OpenEdge (ABL/4GL) in a support environment.
  • Good understanding of Progress Database concepts and performance troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience in incident management, problem management, and change management principles.
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux commands and scripting languages.
  • Exposure to ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, or Remedy.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of integration with APIs/web services and RESTful architecture.
  • Experience in working with global support models and adapting to different cultural contexts.
  • Basic knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
