Our client is a prominent player in the maritime industry, providing comprehensive technical services and solutions to a wide range of vessels. We are currently looking to expand our technical team with a Senior Procurement Professional to provide vital support to the Technical Superintendents and Fleet Managers.

Assistant Procurement Manager

(based in Delhi NCR, Noida)

ORGANIZATION: The Assistant Procurement Manager will be handling end-to-end purchasing activities for a group of vessels and working closely with the Technical Superintendents and Fleet Managers to ensure seamless execution of procurement activities, technical operations, and vessel maintenance. This includes ensuring timely material availability, managing vendor relationships, maintaining cost efficiency, and supporting critical ship operations. Youll be the key link between technical teams and suppliers, ensuring smooth coordination and high service standards.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee procurement operations for assigned vessels, ensuring timely and cost-effective material supply.
  • Supervise, guide, and develop a team of Procurement Executives.
  • Coordinate closely with Technical Superintendents and Fleet Managers to prioritize urgent needs.
  • Handle vendor sourcing, negotiation, evaluation, and performance tracking.
  • Monitor and improve key metrics such as purchase order accuracy, cost savings, and vendor delivery timelines.
  • Support invoice processing, documentation, and audits in collaboration with Accounts and Compliance teams.
  • Ensure effective communication with vessel crew, logistics teams, and external suppliers across multiple time zones.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and systems.
  • Support the technical team in monitoring and ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations and safety standards.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • A diploma or degree in Engineering, or a related field (or relevant practical experience).
  • At least 5 years of procurement or technical purchase experience, preferably in the maritime sector.
  • Strong understanding of vessel operations, systems, and technical procurement processes.
  • Strong knowledge of marine spare parts, machinery, tools, and vendor ecosystems.
  • Excellent coordination and negotiation abilities.
  • Process-driven with a keen eye for detail.
  • Comfortable working with data, purchase software, and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, particularly in managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with vendors, vessels, and internal teams.
