The Senior Director, Consulting is a senior leadership role and has the primary objective to participate with senior business leadership to formulate and implement the Consulting Services strategy within their assigned business area.
This role collaborates with senior business leadership stakeholders to provide vision in the development of the consulting services strategy and manages the implementation of the strategy in order to achieve revenue and expense targets.
This role takes responsibility for developing, defining, managing and growing a sustainable and profitable consulting services practice aligned to the strategy of the overall business and provides guidance and advice on leveraging service management capabilities to effectively deliver value to clients.
This senior leadership role is responsible for fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture across the consulting team(s) within their remit.
Key responsibilities:
- Influences strategic plans for the functional area to ensure alignment to the overall consulting services strategic goals.
- Provides support, coaching and development opportunities to a team of senior professional consultants in the functional area.
- Establishes consulting services programs aligned to strategy execution and revenue realization.
- Establishes and maintains the required processes, policies and tools relating to financial, people, marketing and delivery management.
- Oversees the delivery of client requirements against agreed contracts for relevant consulting areas.
- Leverages their relationship skills and knowledge of the client environment to address complex client and business needs, providing relevant solutions.
- Defines and measures the operational execution of the consulting strategy.
- Acts as subject matter expert and recommends and implements changes to achieve goals.
- Leads by example, setting the standard for client satisfaction and develops policies, procedures and standards that will drive optimization and client satisfaction.
- Collaborates with executives to provide vision in the development of the consulting services strategy and manages the implementation of the strategy in order to achieve revenue and expense targets.
- Defines and executes business plans, monitoring performance and managing expectations to achieve best business results.
- Ensures that the business area meets its profitability targets, maximizing revenue per billable resource within agreed cost constraints and without compromising the integrity and standards of the company.
- Act as a change agent, driving transformation that leads to maximum client satisfaction and business profitability.

- Expert knowledge and understanding of IT industry environment and business needs.
- Deep understanding of the vast range of IT operations and organizational service offerings.
- Demonstrate excellent levels of client and executive engagement.
- Service orientated with the ability to manage client value whilst maintaining profitable business results.
- Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the product's functionality and capability and how it is applied to solve client's problems.
- Motivational and inspirational leader with superior decision-making skills and assertiveness.
- Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to interact professionally at all levels internally and externally.
- Excellent strategic thinking capability and good analytical skills.
- A strong market orientation with experience working with clients and business teams to create client-orientated solutions and services.
Academic qualifications and certifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology and/or Business Management or a related field.
- Scaled Agile certification desirable.
- Relevant consulting and technical certifications preferred.
Required experience:
- Significantly vast level of relevant experience in similar role within a related environment.
- Significantly vast previous experience operationally managing and leading a consulting team.
- Significantly vast experience dealing with clients and managing service levels.
- Significantly vast stakeholder engagement experience at all levels in the organization.
- Significantly vast project management experience.
