ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mechanical Press Machine Maintenance:

  • Inspect and Maintain Presses: Regularly inspect mechanical presses for wear, damage, and alignment issues. Address any issues promptly.

  • Lubrication: Ensure proper lubrication of moving parts to prevent friction and wear.

  • Die Maintenance: Collaborate with die maintenance teams to ensure smooth operation of press tools and dies.

  • Emergency Repairs:

  • Quick Response: Be prepared to respond swiftly to any press breakdowns or emergencies.

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical issues and implement immediate repairs to minimize production downtime.

  • Safety and Compliance:

  • Safety Protocols: Enforce safety protocols for press operation and maintenance.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.

  • Performance Optimization:

  • Efficiency: Continuously monitor press performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Optimize Settings: Adjust press settings (such as speed, pressure, and stroke length) for optimal production output.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintenance Records: Maintain detailed records of press maintenance activities.

  • Reports: Generate reports on press performance, downtime, and maintenance costs.

  • Collaboration:

  • Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with production, quality control, and engineering teams.

  • Training: Train operators on safe press operation and basic troubleshooting.

PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Educational Background:

  • A ITI, Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is essential. This provides the foundational knowledge required for the role.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Press Shop Maintenance is preferred.

  • Total experience of up to 5 years is desirable.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Mechanical Expertise: Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems, especially press machines.

  • Troubleshooting: Ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Tool Handling: Familiarity with tools and equipment used in maintenance work.

  • Safety Knowledge: Understanding of safety regulations and protocols.

  • Specific Competencies:

  • Press Shop Knowledge: In-depth understanding of press shop operations, including die maintenance, lubrication, and safety practices.

  • Preventive Maintenance: Experience in planning and executing preventive maintenance schedules.

  • Emergency Response: Ability to handle press breakdowns promptly.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address unexpected challenges.

  • Team Player: Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including production and quality control.
