About the Program:
Since launching in 2019, the program has directly reached over 4L learners in 20,000 schools, influencing computational thinking across Schools of Excellence (SOE) in Gujarat.
Role Overview:
The Program Officer, (Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar districts), for Gujarat will be responsible for overseeing assigned districts ensuring the smooth implementation of program deliverables as per state and donor commitments. This role involves strengthening Computational thinking concepts through Intermediate Ideathon and Hackathon, building relationships with District and Block officials, supporting, fostering effective coordination within the team, and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders.
A. Program Execution:
● Guide teachers and Headmasters in effectively executing the CT curriculum in line with project design.
● Develop and refine session plans, templates, and content to align with the Program's curriculum requirements.
● Lead pilots and demonstrate the impact of CT on children alongside teachers in assigned schools and Blocks.
● Engage in regular team meetings with teachers, Headmasters, and community members to understand ground realities and provide necessary support.
● Conduct joint visits with teachers in the community, building stronger relationships with parents.
● To ensure implementation of all deliverables under project at School level.
B. Ensuring School Level Support
● Assist teachers in integrating the CT curriculum within their classrooms.
● Conduct demonstration sessions on Intermediate Ideathon and Hackthon to actively engage children and teachers in CT activities.
● Support teachers in developing change projects focused on the CT
● Plan and conduct review meetings with Headmasters at the school level.
● Lead initiatives to strengthen relationships between schools and the respective district educational officials
● Act as the main point of contact for Headmasters, ensuring they are informed and involved in planning processes.
● Build a good repo with BRC and CRC and ensure their engagement in collecting feedback from school on CT & Career.
● Organize and participate in monthly/quarterly review meetings with all program stakeholders.
● Collaborate with the M&E team in implementing monitoring tools in line with the program strategy.
● Compile and analyze field-level reports and data as required by the program.
● Document and share best practices from schools for CT & Career in monthly and quarterly reports.
● Provide regular written and verbal reports, tracking progress against work plans and schedules.
● Assist in the documentation of training sessions, meetings, and events.
● Coordinate baseline/endline assessments and other evaluations.
● Ensure maintenance of data of respective schools in organizational data base
● Participate actively in line management meetings and the appraisal process.
● Adhere strictly to all finance and HR policies of the organization.
● Foster a culture of respect, openness, honesty, and professionalism within the team.
● Uphold and embody the values of Quest Alliance in all actions and interactions.
● Identify personal development needs and set self-learning goals for the year.
● Take responsibility for tracking and achieving these learning goals.
● Commit to and complete all self-learning objectives for the year.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
● A Graduate/Postgraduate degree in any discipline (preferably social work, development, education, gender studies, rural development)
● 2-3 years of work experience preferably in the Education sector
● Proven ability to network and establish collaborative relationships with a variety of actors, including Education department
● Facilitation skills and provide hand-on experience to Educators and Learners
● Willingness to travel extensively
● A strong personal commitment to the values of Quest Alliance
● Language Skills - Gujarat (mandatory) Proficiency in English for reporting purpose
● Are passionate about the challenges India is facing in education and employability domain
● Have an exposure to work on STEM on careers
● Can work with ambiguity
● Candidate should be flexible, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and an energetic team player
