Key Responsibilities:Regulatory Coordination

  • Act as the nodal point of contact with regulatory bodies like the National MedicalCommission (NMC), State Medical Council, and Ministry of Health & Family Welfareand

State Health Department, Public Works Department (PWD) and other relevantagencies for infrastructure, land use and utilities.

  • Ensure compliance with all NMC norms and facilitate the recognition and inspectionprocess.
  • Coordinate timely submission of required documents, forms, and reports for collegeapproval and seat allocation.
  • Follow up on administrative sanctions, fund releases (if applicable), and serviceapprovals.

Affiliation and Academic Setup

  • Liaise with the affiliating university to manage academic affiliation, curriculumrequirements, and examination setup.
  • Communicate regularly with university and regulatory representatives on matters ofacademic compliance.

Inspection and Accreditation

  • Work towards achieving accreditation from relevant bodies, ensuring the college meetsquality standards.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating NMC inspections (initial and periodic).
  • Facilitate inspection visits and assist with compliance reports.
  • Ensure all departments and facilities are ready as per norms, standards before inspection.
  • Help gather and organize compliance evidence, faculty lists, infrastructure details, etc.

Legal and Policy Compliance

  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure the college adapts accordingly.
  • Liaise with legal advisors on matters related to recognition, affiliation, or regulatorydisputes.
  • Represent the college at external meetings, academic forums, health summits andinspections.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Maintain regular communication with higher authorities, providing updates on progresson necessary approvals and addressing any issues that may arise.

Handle correspondencerelated to affiliation, licensing, grants, and compliance.

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive records of communications with authorities, statusof permissions inspection reports, approvals, and pending issues.

Faculty and Staff Recruitment:

  • Recruiting qualified proportionate faculty, staff as per NMC norms and otherprofessionals to support the college.
  • Issue advertisements, screen applications, and schedule interviews in consultation withthe Human Resource, Dean and conduct Selection Committees.
  • Manpower planning for phased recruitment based on college expansion.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders,including government officials, funding agencies, local agencies, authorities.
  • Facilitate end-to-end processes for obtaining necessary approvals, annual renewals, andinspections.

Serve as the single point of contact for all internal and external stakeholdersincluding Management, Government agencies, Local authorities, Hospital partners,Academic collaborators. Vendor & Contractor Coordination o Manage communication with vendors and service providers related to Medical equipmentprocurement, Lab setup, Hostel/campus construction, IT infrastructure, Security,housekeeping, and maintenance

  • Track timelines, delivery schedules, and performance benchmarks.
  • Coordinate with accounts for timely payment and vendor compliance.

Educational Qualifications : A postgraduate degree in Medical (MBBS MD/MS or equivalent), Hospital Administration/ Healthcare Management, Public Health (MPH), Project Management / MBA (withhealthcare focus preferred)Experience in Medical Education or Healthcare, NMC regulations or previous participationin setting up a medical instituteAt least 15–20 years in a leadership role in hospital/medical education project planningRequired Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Familiar with regulations governing medical education and healthcare institutions. Proven experience in taking approvals, liaising, project planning, execution, and completion.

Strong knowledge of Medical education systems (especially in India), healthcareadministration, or a related field is highly desirable. In essence, the Project Director is the key leader responsible for bringing the new medicalcollege vision to reality, ensuring its success and longevity.
