The Recruiting Manager opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Recruiting, this role offers significant ownership and influence in how Okta positions itself in the Tech talent market in India. This is a critical opportunity for a hands-on leader with deep talent branding expertise and a solid ability to drive recruitment efforts in a complex, global hyper-growth environment.

What you'll be doing 

  • Plan & Execute recruiting for Technical roles across the India region, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market needs.
  • Build and maintain robust internal and external talent branding initiatives, including referral drives, tech talks, webinars, LinkedIn campaigns, and blog posts.
  • Serve as the primary operational partner for business leaders in the region. This involves collaborating closely with local leadership, including directors, senior managers, and key internal partners  (HR, Finance, Operations, Compensation, and Benefits teams) to execute effective hiring strategies.
  • Lead and manage a recruitment team of 4 or more direct reports, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and career development.
  • Drive efficiencies that scale, focusing on metrics, process, and technology. Instrument and align operating rhythms to ensure the team hits established KPI's.
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador and steward of talent for Okta

What you'll bring to the role & what we're looking for

Experience & Leadership
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in a recruitment role focused on business-facing positions, with specific expertise in building Tech/Product teams within the India region.
  • Partnership: 3+ years of direct partnership with internal business leadership (Directors/Sr Managers/Managers) and partners (HR, Finance, Ops, Compensation, Benefits teams) in executing strategy and hiring plans.
  • Proven Leadership: Demonstrated success managing the activities of a recruiting team or discipline, with individual contributions directly tied to team or organisational outcomes
Core Competencies & Skills
  • Core Competencies: Strong proficiency in Strategic Planning & Execution, Data-Driven Decision Making, Talent & Team Development, and Recruiting Processes.
  • Problem-Solving: Experience working on issues of diverse scope where analysis of the situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent Communication skills (clear expectation setting and appropriate escalation), Stakeholder Management, Strategic Thinking, and Adaptability to shifting priorities.
