About the Role:

The core responsibility of the Product Management role is to create positive impact on the business through consumer insights and product analytics, while leveraging technology in an optimal manner. In order to do this, Product Managers (PMs) need to develop an in-depth understanding of the consumers, clients, business model and the market landscape. This understanding should lead to identification of problems and creation of novel solutions to address these problems.

In order to create positive business impact, PMs need to work on building these solutions by working closely with internal stakeholders to do product development. They need to collaborate with internal functions such as Technology, UX, Content, Sales, Delivery and Data Science, to rollout projects. For this, they need an ability to lead without authority & with persuasion by aligning everyones expectations on a common goal. Periodic assessment of impact by speaking to relevant stakeholders & checking product metrics is an integral part of the role.

As part of Product Team, PM need to be 1 step ahead in the changing environment where expectations of students are moving from traditional ways to more conversational journeys due to popularization of platform such as ChatGPT. PM will be at helm of making that transition of platform from a text based platform to conversational but more importantly, understand what part of journey will have high impact without compromising on quality.

Key Responsibility Areas:

What will you do as a part of product team?

  • At the core, help student in their college selection journey through outstanding counselling experience and offer value to colleges with right students
  • Identify and prioritize the problems that needs to be solved
  • Develop features and solutions to solve those problems in an iterative and data driven manner
  • Take risks, but build something AWESOME which creates value for the end user
  • Be consumer insights & data driven to lead a team of skilled engineers, designers to not just execute BUT also set the roadmap for the product
  • Mapping user needs with expectations and make Shiksha a go-to platform for student for any education related queries
  • Explore and evaluate gaps in student's journey where Shiksha can play a pivotal role while not losing the business objectives in sight

Competencies required for doing this job well:

  • Should be self-driven with high ownership bias
  • Should have understanding of AI Models and more importantly understand how to leverage them to serve both user and business needs
  • Good understanding of organic acquisition channels, SEO and working with content heavy products. Experience of working in user generated platform will be added plus.
  • Should be adept in SQL, Excel, Google Analytics, Google Search Console and creating impactful presentations
  • Empathy, innovation and openness to learning

Qualifications needed

  • 2-5 years of Product Management experience in consumer internet space
  • MBA/Post-grad from premium institutes with a computer science engineering graduation
