Key Responsibilities
- Generate new international leads for web, mobile app, and software development projects using your own database/network and via research.
- Identify companies, startups and other potential clients who are looking for offshore development / offshore hiring.
- Monitor and bid on projects on freelance / contracting platforms like Upwork, Freelancer, Guru, Toptal, etc.
- Prepare compelling proposals / bids: scope, timeline, pricing, deliverables, terms, etc.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals with clients.
- Manage pipeline: track leads, follow-ups, proposals sent, wins/losses.
- Liaise with technical / delivery teams to understand capabilities, capacity, and ensure delivery expectations are realistic.
- Maintain and update CRM / database with accurate information about clients, status, value, follow-ups.
- Report regularly to management: monthly or weekly updates on leads generated, proposals submitted, conversion rates, revenue secured.
- Stay current on market trends in international software / app development, competitive pricing, clients' expectations.
Required Skills & Attributes
- Proven track record in business development / sales in software / application / web development services with international clients.
- Prior experience bidding / winning jobs on Upwork or similar platforms.
- Must have a good existing database / network of potential clients or means to build one quickly.
- Strong communication skills in English — written & verbal; ability to write persuasive proposals.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- High level of self-motivation, independence, ability to work remotely / across time zones.
- Strong organizational skills; capability to manage multiple prospects / bids in parallel.
- Basic understanding of web/app/software development projects — common tech stacks, pricing models (fixed / hourly / milestone), delivery timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business / Marketing / Computer Science / IT or related field.
- 2-5 years (or more) of experience in international sales / BD / lead generation in software development.
- Experience with CRM tools, project management tools.
- Knowledge of digital marketing / outbound / inbound lead generation practices.
- Familiar with compliance, contracts, NDAs etc.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Number of qualified international leads generated per month.
- Number of proposals / bids submitted.
- Conversion rate from bid → client (won).
- Revenue generated / value of contracts won.
- Average deal size.
- Lead response time and proposal turnaround time.
