Job Overview:
The Delivery Head is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of services or projects, ensuring they meet client expectations in terms of quality, timelines, and budget. The role involves managing a team of project managers, service delivery managers, and other resources to ensure the successful execution of projects. The Delivery Head acts as the key point of contact for client delivery concerns, ensures adherence to the company's standards, and leads continuous improvement initiatives to optimize delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project/Service Delivery Management:
- Lead and manage the successful delivery of all projects and services within the organization.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from planning to execution and closure, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
- Ensure the quality of delivery and client satisfaction by addressing any issues promptly and proactively.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Manage and mentor a team of delivery managers, project managers, and other relevant staff.
- Foster a high-performance culture through continuous coaching, performance reviews, and skill development.
- Ensure the alignment of team members' strengths and capabilities with organizational delivery requirements.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding service delivery and project progress.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders to ensure ongoing satisfaction and retention.
- Address and resolve escalated client issues, ensuring positive outcomes.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage resource allocation across multiple projects to ensure optimum utilization.
- Ensure that projects are delivered within the allocated budget and resource constraints.
- Forecast resource needs and plan for capacity adjustments as required.
- Process Improvement & Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in the delivery mechanism and implement best practices.
- Drive the adoption of agile methodologies, project management frameworks, and other relevant practices to improve delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
- Continuously monitor the performance of delivery teams and make data-driven decisions to optimize operations.
- Risk & Issue Management:
- Proactively identify risks and issues that may impact project delivery and take corrective actions.
- Ensure that appropriate risk mitigation strategies are in place and that teams are prepared to handle any unforeseen challenges.
- Reporting & Stakeholder Communication:
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership regarding the status of ongoing projects and services.
- Prepare and present reports on key performance metrics such as delivery timelines, client satisfaction, and project performance.
- Ensure effective communication between all internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Contribute to the strategic planning of delivery initiatives and organizational goals.
- Ensure alignment between client needs and the company's overall vision and strategy.
- Lead efforts to expand service offerings or capabilities in line with market demand and business goals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience:
- At least 10-15 years of experience in delivery management or a similar role, with a strong background in project management.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex projects and leading teams.
- Strong client-facing experience with a focus on relationship management and customer satisfaction.
- Certifications: PMP, Agile, or other relevant project management certifications (optional but preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Deep understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Client-focused with a strong emphasis on service delivery and satisfaction.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to drive efficiency in delivery processes.
