JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for automotive electronics materials aligned with the company's NPD (New Product Development) goals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers capable of meeting quality, cost, delivery, and innovation requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favourable pricing, delivery, and service levels.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions as necessary to address issues and improve overall supplier performance.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance to understand material requirements and specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with overall project timelines and objectives.
  • Provide timely updates and reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings initiatives to senior management.
  • Proactively identify potential supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes that may impact materials sourcing and procurement strategies
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, supplier consolidation, and negotiation strategies without compromising quality or reliability.
  • Optimize inventory levels and lead times to support production schedules and minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
  • Promote sustainability initiatives and ethical sourcing practices within the supply chain.

B. E / B. Tech in Electronics/Electrical/ Instrumentation.

M. E / M. Tech in Electronics/Electrical/ Instrumentation.

EXPERIENCE

20 – 25 years

TECHNICAL DETAILS

– Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electronics), supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field.

– With 15 Years to 20 Years of experience in Automotive (Tier – 1) industries.

– Proven experience (13+ Years) in procurement and sourcing of electronics components within the automotive industry, ideally within an NPD environment.

– Strong knowledge of electronic components, materials, and manufacturing processes.

– Excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.

– Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and implement effective procurement strategies.

– Solid understanding of supply chain management principles, logistics, and inventory management.

– Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software tools.

– Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

– Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) a plus
