About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Manager – Investment Accounting to join our dynamic Global Capability Center (GCC) supporting a leading BFSI organization. This role is pivotal in overseeing all aspects of investment accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting in a complex, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep domain expertise in investment accounting, a strategic mindset, and a strong track record of leadership within global financial institutions or captive centers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investment Accounting Oversight:
    Lead and manage end-to-end investment accounting processes, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, valuations, and reporting for various investment instruments such as bonds, equities, derivatives, and alternative assets.
  • Team Leadership:
    Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing investment accounting team. Provide technical guidance and ensure alignment with global accounting standards and policies.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance:
    Ensure timely and accurate preparation of investment-related financial statements, schedules, and disclosures in compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, or statutory requirements as applicable.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    Act as a primary liaison between the GCC and onshore finance, investment, and audit teams. Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and delivery.
  • Process Optimization & Automation:
    Identify opportunities to streamline investment accounting processes through automation, system enhancements, and best practices to improve operational efficiency and control.
  • Audit & Risk Management:
    Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and addressing audit queries. Maintain robust controls and mitigate risk exposure related to investment operations.
  • System Implementation & Upgrades:
    Lead or support system migrations, upgrades, and transformation initiatives related to investment accounting platforms (e.g., Eagle, SAP, Oracle, or other financial systems).
  • Regulatory & Management Reporting:
    Ensure accuracy and timeliness of regulatory submissions and management reports concerning investment portfolios.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA, CA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • 14 years of progressive experience in investment accounting within the BFSI domain, preferably in a GCC or shared services setup.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards (US GAAP, IFRS) as applicable to investment products.
  • Strong understanding of investment instruments – fixed income, equity, derivatives, private placements, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with investment accounting systems such as Eagle, PAM, SAP FAM, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and leading high-performing teams.
