D365 Project Manager

Role purpose

Version one is seeking an experienced D365 Project Manager to lead the delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 programmes and projects, managing the full lifecycle from planning through to go-live and transition to BAU support.

This role requires a strong understanding of business processes (finance, supply chain, operations) with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable ERP solutions. The Project Manager will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, functional consultants, and technical teams, ensuring solutions are aligned with organisational objectives and deliver measurable value.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong expertise in project governance, risk management, and delivery methodologies, combined with hands-on experience in using Azure DevOps for backlog management, sprint planning, and release coordination.

Key responsibilities

Project Delivery & Lifecycle Management

• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 projects, ensuring outcomes align with agreed standards, objectives, and business expectations.
• Develop, track, and manage project plans, RAID logs, schedules, budgets, and resources using Azure DevOps and PMO frameworks.
• Should have F&O experience
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (functional consultants, developers, vendors, and business stakeholders) to ensure seamless execution and alignment of deliverables.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate risks and issues that may impact delivery timelines, quality, or budget.
• Oversee functional and technical deliverables, ensuring the solution is configured and customised to meet agreed business requirements
• Manage interdependencies between finance, operations, and supply chain workstreams, ensuring cross-functional alignment.

Delivery Leadership

• Lead and facilitate project ceremonies such as planning sessions, sprint reviews, retrospectives, governance forums, and steering committee updates.
• Ensure adoption of the most effective delivery methodology (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) based on project needs and client context.
• Proactively identify and resolve delivery risks, dependencies, and impediments to maintain smooth project progress.
• Manage scope, timelines, and budgets to ensure commitments are met with high-quality outcomes.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment with clear ownership of deliverables.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders, finance leaders, functional consultants, and technical teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Communicate project status, risks, and progress clearly to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams, ensuring expectations are consistently managed

Continuous Improvement

• Foster a collaborative team environment to drive successful project outcomes.
• Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and value delivery.
• Coach and mentor team members on Agile principles, ERP delivery practices, and Azure DevOps usage.

Qualifications

Essential experience & skills

• 6-8 Years of expereince Proven track record of delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 projects end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of business process enablement in one or more domains such as Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, or HR.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for project tracking, backlog management, and release planning.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies with the flexibility to operate in Waterfall or hybrid environments.
• Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage business and technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage risks and proactively resolve blockers.

Desirable experience & skills

• Project Management certification (Prince2, PMP, or Agile Scrum Master).
• Experience managing multi-country or global Dynamics 365 rollout.
• Previous experience working in a consulting, system integrator, or enterprise ERP/CRM environment.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and familiarity with DevOps practices.
• Exposure to Azure cloud services and the broader Microsoft ecosystem (Power Platform, CRM, BI, integrations).
