The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you'll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You'll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.

There's never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You'll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You'll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Required Skills & Experience: 

• 4–7 years of experience in VMware virtualization and hyperconverged infrastructure support. 

• Strong hands-on knowledge of vCenter, ESXi installation, configuration, and administration. 

• Experience with vulnerability mitigation and patching on VMware infrastructure. 

• Good understanding of blade servers, service profiles, and fabric interconnects. 

• Working knowledge of Nutanix AHV administration and support. 

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills in a virtualized infrastructure environment. 

Key Responsibilities: 
VMware Infrastructure Management 

• Install, configure, and manage vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, and virtual machines. 

• Manage and configure ODBC connections to vCenter Server. 

• Install and maintain vSphere Client and vSphere Web Client. 

• Manage vCenter licensing and compliance. 

• Design and implement vCenter and ESXi architecture based on customer requirements. 

• Perform vulnerability mitigation and patching for ESXi and vCenter. 
Blade Server & Fabric Interconnect Management 

• Manage and update fabric interconnects. 

• Create and maintain resource pools (UUID, WWPN, WWNN, MAC Address, Server). 

• Create and manage server service profiles for blade environments. 

• Manage KVM access to blade servers for troubleshooting and provisioning. 
Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure 

• Provide L2-level administration and support for Nutanix AHV environments. 

• Support virtual machine lifecycle management, patching, and networking. 

• Assist in troubleshooting Nutanix platform-related issues. 
 
Tools & Technologies: 

• VMware vSphere / vCenter / ESXi 

• Nutanix AHV 

• Blade Servers and Fabric Interconnects 

• Virtual Machine Networking 
 
Preferred Certifications: 

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)  

• VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) – Preferred. 

• Exposure to Nutanix certifications (NCP, NCM) will be an advantage. 
 
Soft Skills: 

• Strong communication and documentation skills. 

• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. 

• Proactive approach in identifying and resolving infrastructure issues. 

• Flexible to work in 24x7 support environments / on-call rotations.
