Job Description

Sia Partners is looking for an Engineering Manager to support the development of the Data Science Business Line in our new office in Mumbai.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Lead Engineering Excellence:
  Guide and motivate engineering teams to create groundbreaking, high-quality products. Cultivate an environment focused on continuous education and career advancement for software engineers, DevOps Engineers, architects, technical leaders, etc.
• Projects' delivery:
  Manage our Engineering teams from an operational point of view and take responsibility for project delivery. Coordinate with a project manager, help to estimate and frame the project, define deliverables and manage operations.
• Strategic Vision Implementation:
  Work closely with essential stakeholders to craft persuasive product and technology strategies that highlight step-by-step development and implementation. Establish specific, measurable goals to enhance team and individual accountability.
• Team Leadership and Development:
  Advise and support Engineering Managers, aiding their development into effective leaders. Coordinate human resources, capacity, and interdependencies to achieve strategic priorities and goals. Promote synergistic collaboration among the Product, Engineering, Research, Operations, and Support departments.
• Promotion of Innovation and Efficiency:
  Uphold the highest standards of excellence and efficiency in software engineering practices. Foster a culture of ongoing enhancement, encouraging innovative thinking and knowledge exchange throughout the organization.
• Talent Development and Engagement:
  Engage in recruiting, training, and empowering premier engineering talent. Attract, develop, and maintain outstanding engineers, creating an environment of excellence and cooperative effort.

Qualifications

• Education:
  Minimum Bachelor's Degree or international equivalent in a relevant subject (Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Business preferred).
• Experience:
  Over 8 years in software development, including at least 2 years in a leadership role managing software development teams. Demonstrated expertise in the technology product sector, with a robust understanding of product development processes and innovation.
• Technical Expertise:
  Proficient in developing and launching modern SaaS products. Solid knowledge of scalable cloud-native systems, especially on public cloud platforms like AWS. Skilled in modern DevOps practices, adhering to the philosophy of "you build it, you run it."
• Leadership Skills:
  A decisive technology leader who prioritizes action. Outstanding interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and collaborating across functions to achieve common objectives. Strong command of the English language, adept in both written and verbal communication, effective at all organizational levels.

• Global Collaboration:
  Demonstrated skills in global team collaboration. Experienced in leading managers and excelling in attracting and retaining top engineering talents.

• Technical skills:
  Proficient in cloud deployment strategies, including Private Cloud and AWS, alongside containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Familiar with CI/CD methodologies and tools including Gitlab. Skilled in programming languages such as Python and in scripting languages like Bash.
