About the role

You'll craft end-to-end technical proposals for condition monitoring of electrical assets (transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, SF₆ systems), combining PD monitoring expertise with modern IoT/SCADA integrations. You'll translate customer specs and SLDs into technically feasible, cost-effective solutions and collaborate cross-functionally to win projects and hand over cleanly to delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design compliant monitoring solutions for transformers, MV/HV switchgear (GIS/AIS), and SF₆ systems, aligned to customer SLDs and specs.
  • Build complete technical proposals: architecture, BoMs, sensors, comms, integration, scope, deliverables, and exclusions/assumptions.
  • Interpret and respond to customer requirements, standards, and regulatory constraints; produce compliance matrices.
  • Work with product/engineering, procurement, and finance to validate feasibility, cost, and lead times.
  • Present solutions to customers; support technical Q&A, demos, and clarifications.
  • Prepare clean handover packages and run PO kick-off/handover calls with the project team.
  • Track industry trends (IEC 60270, IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus TCP/IP, cybersecurity for substations) and reflect in proposals.
  • Senior only:
    Lead complex bids, mentor junior engineers, and drive solution standardization/playbooks.

Tech focus

  • Domains:
    Transformer monitoring, partial discharge monitoring, SF₆ monitoring, GIS/AIS condition monitoring.
  • Protocols/Integration:
    IEC MMS/GOOSE), DNP3, Modbus TCP/IP; OPC UA/DA (nice to have); utility SCADA/DCS gateways.
  • IoT/Edge:
    Data acquisition, networking, time sync, buffering; cloud/on-prem data flows.
  • ERP/Tools:
    Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint), Business Central (for quote/BOM alignment).

Requirements

Must-have

  • Hands-on experience creating technical proposals for electrical asset condition monitoring.
  • Ability to read SLDs and derive measurement points, comms, and protection/earthing considerations.
  • Strong written & verbal communication; customer-facing presentation skills.
  • Organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple bids to deadlines.

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of IEC 60270 PD testing/monitoring practices; familiarity with GIS PD couplers and sensor types.
  • Experience with cybersecurity considerations for substation networks.
  • Exposure to Business Central or similar ERP for BOM/cost roll-ups.
  • Utility or EPC customer experience.

Eligibility

  • Bachelor's or master's in electrical/Electronics Engineering (or related).
  • Demonstrated proposal/bid management experience in power/utility monitoring or substation automation.
