The Production Manager is responsible for leading the execution of automotive radar production programs within SONA Comstar's facilities in India. This role ensures seamless integration of NOVELIC's radar platforms into a shared manufacturing setup by aligning local execution with global quality, process, and delivery standards. The role serves as the primary operational interface between NOVELIC HQ (Serbia), local production teams, and SONA Comstar (India).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program-Based Production Execution

  • Align shared manufacturing execution plans with NOVELIC's Customer Projects and Program delivery timelines
  • Coordinate with SONA Comstar's production leadership to plan capacity, manage scheduling, and resolve shopfloor blockers
  • Represent NOVELIC in joint operational reviews with SONA Comstar management

2. Workforce Integration & Capability Building

  • Deploy NOVELIC's production playbooks and work instructions within SONA Comstar operations
  • Lead cross-functional task forces for production ramp-up, integrating engineers from NOVELIC HQ and local SONA Comstar teams
  • Oversee training and certification of operators on radar-specific processes and EOL testing protocols

3. Equipment Commissioning & Facility Alignment

  • Coordinate installation and commissioning of radar-specific manufacturing equipment
  • Align facility modifications with radar production requirements and SONA Comstar infrastructure constraints
  • Ensure readiness of utilities, tooling, calibration, and servicing plans

4. Quality Assurance & Compliance Oversight

  • Ensure integration of NOVELIC's quality systems into SONA Comstar's IATF 16949 framework
  • Lead joint quality audits, root cause analysis, and non-conformance management
  • Collaborate with Productization Office to align compliance with ASPICE, ISO 26262, and SOTIF (if applicable)

5. Feedback to Platform & Industrialization Teams

  • Capture operational learning from ramp-up and provide feedback into platform industrialization backlog
  • Participate in Productization Office routines to report on readiness, equipment performance, and process quality

Work Environment & Reporting Structure

  • Based full-time at SONA Comstar production facility
  • Reports to NOVELIC's Production Director (HQ)
  • Operational coordination with SONA Comstar Head of Operations
  • Works with matrixed team of Serbia-based engineers and local production staff

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Production Manager in automotive electronics or components manufacturing
  • Demonstrated success managing production in a shared or partner-operated environment
  • Strong stakeholder management in cross-organizational and cross-cultural setups
  • Hands-on experience with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949)

Preferred:

  • Experience with Indian Tier-1 or Tier-2 automotive suppliers
  • Familiarity with radar-based product manufacturing and ADAS systems
  • Awareness of ASPICE, ISO 26262, or SOTIF standards
  • Prior collaboration with Productization, NPI, or platform engineering teams
