Job Description
Reporting to: Director India Business
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, experienced business development manager to help the company grow the India business to the next level. Reporting directly to the Director India Business, the BDM will operate in India. The Indian alcobev is the fastest growing major market in the world, so this role offers the successful candidate a limitless opportunity to build a dynamic & fast growing commercial territory, with the opportunity to manage new hires as the client base expands. The role will be home based plus travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Networking across almost all domestic Indian alcobev brand owners, producers and industry adjacent companies – inclusive of banks and consultants
- Building relationships with key decision makers at the above companies
- Building a balanced pipeline of one off report & subscription sales opportunities to ensure consistent monthly performance
- Generating a self sustaining commercial territory
- Being the commercial face of company
- Regular face to face meetings with larger clients
- Effective networking via LinkedIn, industry events and other relevant on/offline events
- As required, close cooperation with the Asia-Pac Commercial Director to ensure optimal client engagement & performance
- Close cooperation with the local research lead to ensure a two-way flow of new contacts
- Using and updating , with a priority focus on MQL- Marketing Qualified Leads
- Primary point of contact for in-bound client queries from the client group
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years successful new business sales & key account management experience in a business information (or similar) / alcohol industry sales role
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Organized, efficient and self-motivated
- Track record in B2B sales environment with new business and renewals; ideally selling data driven deals and online database subscriptions
- Ability to generate revenue through your own efforts in respect to finding and developing client opportunities
- Ideally have managed a portfolio of clients
- Experience writing full proposals.
- Strong business acumen.
- Responsive and forward-thinking; ability to multi-task with eye toward detail.
- Ability to manage time effectively and deliver results.
- Comfortable working with numbers, both internal data and basic finance skills.
- Ability to travel to meet with clients and attend industry events, within India
- Clear thinker with proven ability to articulate complex issues into simple messages.
- Competent with Word, Excel, PPT
