About the Role

As a
Research & Development Associate
at TechInvention Lifecare Ltd., you will play an integral role in supporting upstream bioprocess development activities. This position is well-suited for someone who is passionate about microbial fermentation, hands-on laboratory work, and contributing to meaningful innovations in biotechnology.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to execute fermentation experiments, operate bioreactors, generate high-quality data, and support process optimization and scale-up initiatives. Your work will directly contribute to the development of vaccines, diagnostics, and biotherapeutics that drive scientific and technological advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform bacterial culture initiation, growth monitoring, and scale-up from flask to fermenter.
  • Prepare media, buffers, and reagents following SOPs and sterile techniques.
  • Operate and maintain bioreactors (1L to 100L scale), including setup, sterilization, inoculation, and sampling.
  • Monitor fermentation parameters (pH, DO, temperature, agitation, aeration) and adjust them as needed.
  • Collect and analyze samples for OD, CFU, metabolite concentration, and other relevant metrics.
  • Maintain accurate batch records, logbooks, and documentation in compliance with GMP/GLP standards.
  • Assist in troubleshooting process deviations and equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with downstream processing, analytical, and QA teams to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Participate in process optimization and scale-up studies.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in bacterial fermentation or upstream processing.
  • Familiarity with microbial growth kinetics, media formulation, and aseptic techniques.
  • Experience with bioreactor operations and basic analytical tools (e.g., spectrophotometer, pH meter).
  • Knowledge of GMP/GLP practices and documentation requirements.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with recombinant bacterial strains (e.g.,
    E. coli
    ) and expression systems.
  • Exposure to process development or tech-transfer activities.
  • Familiarity with automation systems and data-logging software.
