About the Role :

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Tableau Developer with deep expertise in both visualization and backend data querying to join our analytics team in Bengaluru. This role is crucial for transforming complex enterprise data into intuitive, high-impact visualizations and dashboards. You will serve as the bridge between raw data and business insights, requiring mastery of SQL to ensure the accuracy and performance of all data sources.

Responsibilities :

- Dashboard Development : Design, develop, and maintain advanced, visually compelling, and interactive Tableau dashboards and reports that translate complex data sets into clear, actionable business insights for various stakeholders.

- SQL Mastery & Data Preparation : Utilize expert-level SQL proficiency to write, optimize, and execute complex queries, stored procedures, and views for data extraction, transformation, and direct integration with Tableau.

- Data Source Optimization : Architect and manage robust, high-performance data sources (both live connections and extracts) within Tableau Server/Cloud, ensuring optimal refresh rates and query performance.

- Visualization Best Practices : Enforce strict visualization standards, including proper use of LOD expressions, parameters, sets, filters, and calculations, to ensure data accuracy and dashboard speed.

- Collaboration & Requirements : Work directly with business and product teams to gather detailed reporting requirements and translate them into efficient, technically sound data models and visualizations.

- Performance Tuning : Profile and tune poorly performing SQL queries within Tableau workbooks and database environments to significantly reduce dashboard load times and improve the user experience.

Required Skill Set (Mandatory Skills) :

- Experience : 4-8 years of hands-on experience as a Tableau Developer or BI Analyst.

- Tableau Proficiency : Expert proficiency with Tableau Desktop, including advanced calculations, dashboard actions, and data blending.

- SQL Expertise : Demonstrated mastery of complex SQL (DDL/DML), including window functions, stored procedures, and performance tuning for large relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Snowflake).

- Data Warehousing : Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and dimensional modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas).

- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills for requirements gathering and presenting analytical findings.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Python or R for advanced statistical analysis and data manipulation prior to visualization.

- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

- Experience in a consumer technology, e-commerce, or FinTech domain.

- Knowledge of Tableau Server/Cloud administration duties related to workbook publishing and governance.
