Role & responsibilities

  • Route Planning & Compliance
  • Maintain the Master Route Chart (daily, alternate, bi-weekly service) for all vehicles and HCFs.
  • Approve monthly route assignments and changes.
  • Verify service coverage reports from the assistant.
  • Ensure 100 percent Bar code compliance.
  • Special Attention and Tracking of 150 Key Clients.
  • Optimise vehicle usage in terms of Load and Trips.
  • Staff Supervision & Discipline
  • Approve driver/helper rosters, leave schedules, and replacements.
  • Responsible for Transport Manpower Management.
  • Arrange immediate replacements for absentees as per plan.
  • Handle absenteeism warnings, union-related discipline, and escalations.
  • Lead training programs for drivers/helpers on BMW handling, route conduct, and compliance.
  • Physically verify HCF service in random checks.
  • Vehicle & Legal Compliance
  • Monitor fitness, permits, pollution checks, insurance renewals.
  • Raise service/repair requests promptly and track job completion.
  • Approve and track preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Reduce challans by ensuring driver compliance with traffic rules.
  • Diesel & Cost Control
  • Approve diesel allocation sheets weekly; verify usage patterns.
  • Investigate deviations or suspected theft with assistants logs.
  • Performance Monitoring
  • Review weekly KPIs: missed pickups, half routes, maintenance delays, diesel variance, service complaints.
  • Escalate serious lapses to senior management with corrective plans.

Preferred candidate profile

Education:

  • Graduate in Logistics, Supply Chain, Environmental Science, or Business Administration.
  • Diploma in Transport Management or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transport operations, route planning, logistics supervision, or waste management services.
  • Experience in Biomedical Waste Management (BMW) operations or fleet management preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of route optimization, vehicle scheduling, and manpower deployment.
  • Proven ability to supervise transport teams (drivers/helpers) with discipline and accountability.
  • Sound understanding of legal compliance vehicle fitness, permits, pollution certificates, and insurance.
  • Good command over diesel usage monitoring, maintenance tracking, and cost control.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets, AppSheet, and basic Excel reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance improvement.
  • Ability to prepare and review MIS reports, KPIs, and route efficiency metrics.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with field staff and senior management.
  • Must be physically active, field-oriented, and disciplined.
