Position Overview: Purchase Officer

We are seeking an experienced Purchase Officer with 7–8 years of hands-on experience in material procurement for real estate or construction projects. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in rate comparison, vendor negotiation, and purchase documentation, along with proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end material procurement for construction sites, including civil, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and finishing materials.

  • Conduct thorough rate comparison of materials to ensure cost-effective purchasing without compromising quality.

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors; maintain strong vendor relationships and negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and credit periods.

  • Generate and process purchase orders (POs) as per project requirements and approval workflows.

  • Coordinate with site engineers, storekeepers, and project managers to understand material requirements and delivery timelines.

  • Track order status, follow up on deliveries, and ensure materials reach sites on time.

  • Maintain proper procurement documentation including quotations, challans, invoices, and price lists.

  • Work closely with the accounts team for invoice verification and payment follow-ups.

  • Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and availability of materials.

  • Prepare monthly procurement reports and MIS using Excel and ERP systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.

  • 7–8 years of experience in procurement or purchase roles (real estate/construction preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and vendor networks.

  • Expertise in rate comparison, sourcing, negotiation, and procurement documentation.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table preferred) and ERP/purchase management software.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and time-sensitive requirements.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
